After saying good-bye to Rodney Wednesday night along with most of her other friends, there were only a couple more good-byes left. Charlie made her way to the bus stop at the Causeway, and settled in for the shuttle. She was checking her bags at the last second, and her purse, and her new laptop, and then looked up at Turtle with a sigh. "Looks like that time, hunh?"

Charlie had only a day and a half more to officially make up her mind: stay, or go. She'd heard the new kids would be in Fandom on Friday. Carmela deserved to know if she needed to expect a new roommate, or get a room to herself.
And overall, it was looking like... go. She made a fewhand-wavey phone calls to people, and then settled in to start packing.
"At least it'll go faster with telekinesis than it did last time."

Charlie had had breakfast with her grandfather very early, then he had claimed he wanted to let her meet some of the other people around the school. In reality, she suspected he was up to something, but that didn't mean she didn't want to spend time with them.
So she was back in her room, chatting with Nita and Kit, Carmela and Ronan's friends, and floating her TK ball toward the ceiling.

The rummage sale was huge, covering five acres at least, and Charlie was having fun finding cheap jewelry and painted scarves and fans as they wandered through. "Are you looking for anything in particular?"

Charlie was practicing with her TK ball this morning, and trying to figure out how to apologize to Andrew and Dr. Troy for having gone telekinetic-aggressive on them this weird weekend. And how to say thank-you to Ronan. Maybe say it with cookies? She left the door open, and Natalie Merchant's Wonder playing as she practiced.

Charlie had the door open as she finished up the last of her packing, then put a CD in her player to sing along to while she played with the TK ball.

Charlie had a bowl of popcorn and a can of Diet Coke (no more Jolt, no way) and had left the door open for Turtle, when she wanted to stop by. In the meantime, she was playing with the TK ball again, for the first time in a while. Yesterday's practice had gone well enough that she felt like she could practice some more.

Charlie had gone to the Welcome Picnic, but only talked to two new people today-- Johnny Blaze and River, who wasn't new, just new to Charlie. Chatting with Dean and Johnny Storm had kind of occupied her time more, and then she'd headed to Cafe' Fina to get dinner from Namine'.
She left the door open, and put out dinner for Carmela on her desk, digging in to her chocolate torte and shrimp salad, wondering if any new people would stop by.
... A little while later, there was a bowl of chocolate minis and marshmallows, sitting right outside the doorway. Not booby-trapped. Or spelled. Or exploding. Just waiting for people to come by.

Last night's upset at the barbeque and subsequent talk with Dean had left Charlie tired enough that she slept in this morning, and stayed in her room thinking for most of the afternoon.
Just remembering the fire that had started had her feeling panicky again. But without people asking questions, and the worry over Peter to focus on, Charlie was better able to consider what had happened, and why it had upset her so much.
She sat on the floor, rolling the TK ball around with one finger, not daring to do anything more interesting.

After getting back yesterday, Charlie ended up crashing in her room and then sleeping a *lot*. Playing paintball takes it right out of you, then all those workshops.
She's considering her options for next session, and wondering if she should talk to the Principal or someone about a scholarship for fall, as she plays with her TK ball again. She's actually getting pretty good at it, rolling it around the room, floating it, and making it bigger or smaller.
Four weeks, and no fires. Woo.

Hmm. Maybe a kitten would enjoy this.. she could take it into work....
Whenever she thought she felt the twinge of a headache, she'd stop, and check the candle, just in case it got away from her. So far, nothing.

Work having been completely quiet all day, Charlie's bored and a little distracted. Too distracted to write, or seek out company.
Not too bored to play with the TK ball that Bridge loaned her. With the big vanilla candle out on her desk, in case something needs to light up while she's trying to master this. And avoiding thinking about how much fun she had yesterday playing pool with Dean and Alec at Fast Eddie's.

Charlie got up, and before she left for the music festival, made a few phone calls to Bridge, Carmela (since she wasn't in the room at the moment), Sam, Alec, Turtle, Johnny, Adam, Isabel, Namine', Karal and Tannim, inviting them along to Fast Eddie's along with her and Dean, who she called to check the time with. Hopefully, a big enough group would want to come along to make it fun. And not awkward, please God.
Then she went off to the music festival, cell phone in tow.
...and got a weird phone call, and then called back, hoping for some clarification.
Which got weirder, because her next phone call sounded like, oh God, her Merc teacher. She had to call back after that.
[Real people originally called, in order: Alec, Jim Halpert, Xander, Constable Fraser, Mel, Anders, John Sheppard, Aeryn, Hamlet, Jude, Sam Winchester, Chad.]

Charlie settled in to write after classes, but couldn't concentrate on any one scene. After a while, she decided to give up, and catch up on her mail instead.

Charlie sealed up the envelope and stamped it, then opened the window, checking the weather to see if she needed an umbrella before she headed into town.

Charlie waited for Naminé at the Causeway, and swung on a lightpole, trying to decide where they'd get to first in D.C. National Art Gallery? Shopping? Too many choices.

"Ticket?" Irving Manders raised bushy white eyebrows over bi-focals, looking enquiringly at Charlie. Somewhere off in the terminal, a loudspeaker was announcing the departures to New York City. She took a deep breath, getting exhaust in her lungs, the tang of gasoline, then nodded.
